Gender Spectrum Youth Groups

Online peer support groups for pre-teens ages 11 and 12 and teens ages 13-19.

BAGLY

Hosting usual programs virtually. Dates, times, and online meeting locations can be found on their website calendar. BAGLY’s identity meetings are social support spaces for LGBTQ+ youth of shared identities to build community and discuss topics related to identity and experiences.

Family Equality - The Neighborhood: A Virtual Hub for LGBTQ+ Families

In this time of social isolation and uncertainty amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Family Equality is providing spaces for you and your family to connect with others, find support, and build community. Check out their list of upcoming events for LGBTQ+ youth, teens, adults, parents, and families.

 

Seacoast Outright

Peer support group for youth under the age of 22 who are LGBTQIA+. This group typically meets in person in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and is facilitated by trained, positive adult role models.

Group meets every Friday night from 7:00-8:30PM. Check out www.seacoastoutright.org for Zoom meeting location. No prior registration required.

Fenway Health Trans/Non-Binary Support Groups

Groups are open to trans, non-binary, questioning, or other gender diverse identified people ages 18+. You do not need to be a Fenway Health patient to join, and the group is free to attend. Check back here weekly for Zoom meeting locations.

Fenway Health support group for trans and gender diverse folks whose gender affirming surgeries have been cancelled or postponed due to COVID-19.

Fenway Health Anxiety and Depression Therapy Groups for Trans and Non-Binary Individuals

These are long term ongoing groups for trans, non-binary, gender queer, gender diverse people with anxiety and/or depression. Participants should be able to participate in a group setting and attend regularly. Interested people must complete an intake. People are not required to receive primary medical care through Fenway Health to participate.

Compass Peer Support Group

Compass is a support, information, and social group for people assigned female at birth who feel that is not an accurate or complete description of their gender.

Meetings are on the first Thursday of every month from 7:00-9:00pm, and are being held virtually until further notice.

Gender Identity Virtual Support Group

If you are exploring your gender identity, transgender, nonbinary, or gender queer, then you are in the right place. You don’t have to be good with technology to attend the group. As long as you have a phone or video access, we would love to have you. Sign up for the Gender Identity Virtual Support Group.

The group is free and meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month 7:00pm - 8:00pm EST.

The group is open to folks ages 13 and up, and the group typically has a wide age range of 19-79.

Trans Lifeline’s Hotline is a peer support service run by trans people, for trans and questioning callers. Our operators are located all over the U.S. and Canada, and are all trans-identified. If you are in crisis or just need someone to talk to, even if it’s just about whether or not you’re trans, please call us. We will do our best to support you and provide you resources.

Fenway Health Non-trans/Cisgender Intimate Partners of Trans/Non-Binary People Support Group

This is a monthly drop-in night for non-trans/cisgender people who are in an intimate relationship with a trans/non-binary person. (Relationship meaning: long-term, dating, casual, open, poly, or monogamous, etc.). The group will provide a space for non-judgmental and uninhibited conversation, support, and resources. Facilitated by a non-trans/cisgender therapist and ally. No call ahead is required.

 

This group meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 6:30-7:45PM. If you are interested in joining, please first contact Sean Borger, LCSW first at 857-347-4969 or sborger@fenwayhealth.org.

 

Fenway Health Parent(s)/Guardian(s) of Trans/Gender Diverse Children and Youth Support Groups

This group is focused on providing information for parents/guardians from a medical provider and a behavioral health provider, as well as other parents/guardians, and to provide a space to ask questions or voice any concerns they have. Parents/guardians (no matter their level of trans literacy) can get support and information, and process thoughts and emotions that might not feel comfortable or appropriate to talk about with the trans and gender diverse young people in their lives.

This parent/guardian group provides an open opportunity for any parent(s)/guardian(s) of trans or gender diverse children and young people to ask questions, get information, share experiences and develop community connections and supports with other parents/guardians. Parents/guardians of any age trans/gender diverse person are welcome. This group is geared towards facilitating parent/guardian discussion and community supports with a special interest in supports for those with gender diverse children under age 12 when those parents/guardians are present - although all parents, guardians, and caregivers of trans and gender diverse young people are welcome. Facilitated by a non-trans/cisgender therapist and ally.

 

Monthly drop-in nights are always free, and discussion topics vary depending on the needs and interests of the group. No pre-registration is required, and participants can drop in any month—and as many times as they’d like. Service providers working with gender diverse youth are also welcome!

 

Fenway Health Trans/Gender Diverse Parents/Prospective Parents Support Group

Meet with others who are parents or planning to have/adopt children. Build support and community. Partners/spouses and young children welcome. No childcare is provided. Facilitated by a non-trans/ cisgender therapist and ally.

TransFamilies Discussion Forums

Families seeking to support trans and gender-diverse children can so often find conflicting information, a dearth of resources, and many other confusing situations. To make matters more challenging, there is often no one to talk with about any of it. TransFamilies Discussion Forums aim to change that. Engage in conversations with others for support, resource sharing, suggestions, and connection. It takes a village! Gender Spectrum National Parent Support Group

The National Parent Support Group is a live online/call-in peer group where parents can support each other and find helpful information on their journey of raising Transgender, non-binary or otherwise ender-expansive children and teens. AANE - Support Group for Parents of Gender Questioning Teens on the Autism Spectrum

Registration is now open for the new AANE’s Parents of Gender Questioning Teens support group. This support group is for parents of teens who are questioning their gender identity. This is a safe place for parents to share their feelings and experiences without judgement. Kelly Lewis is an experienced clinician working with teens with Autism as well as gender questioning.
